Pulau Seribu
Pulau Seribu translates to "Thousand Island" consisting of almost 128 small islands located in the Bay of Jakarta in the Java Sea. Most of these are inhabited and can be reached in a few hours by sail boat leaving from Pantai Mutiara, which is close to Ancol and therefore easily reached for a quick departure on Friday night. As commercial boats only reach the resort islands, this is a unique way to explore more of the uninhabited Pulau Seribu, and also get you away from the main island karaoke!
The surrounding reefs are home to a wide variety of fish, making Pulau Seribu an ideal spot for diving, Snorkeling and fishing. The most popular islands and dive spots are; Hiu Island, Penjaliran Island, Pamagaran Island, Kotok Kecil, Kotok Besar. Most of the dives are reef walls, with plenty of soft corals. You can find nudie branches, turtles, lion fish, bat fish.
