Responsible diving

It is critical to protect the environment we enjoy so much and help educating the inhabitants of the areas about the value of their habitat. At Java Sea Charters we believe that tourism can bring a positive contribution to the environment and marine life and even improve it through bringing awareness and active contribution to repair the damage.

Conservation begins with understanding the need to protect waters necessary for life. Each year Project AWARE introduces a new public awareness and education campaign to address environmental issues and involve individuals in solutions. Project AWARE also teaches enthusiasts how to sustainably interact with aquatic resources and apply these skills to conservation

As a guest on board Cecelia Ann, you will actively contribute to the protection, as we donate for each guest on board to Project AWARE (see Partners). On board and during diving we will respect the environment. Waste will all be collected, we do not touch anything and leave nothing but bubbles.

You can build your own reef!!! An unique opportunity for every diver that would love to ACTIVELY contribute to making the waters and marine life we enjoy a better place.

Java Sea Charters, together with WWF, are planning the first ‘build the reef’ weekend. This truly unique event will take place in Ujung Kulon park, and will be the first EVER done by recreational divers in this part of the planet. Was it always your dream to have a reef named after you? This is your chance!
